The 140th China Import and Export Fair, widely known as the Canton Fair, is set to open Thursday in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, featuring expanded product debuts, smarter buyer services, and streamlined tax refund procedures.
Running from Oct. 15 to Nov. 4, the fair has launched its first new product debut zone, combining digital interaction and supplier matchmaking to enhance deal-making for global buyers.
According to organizers, this upgraded zone will showcase a significant surge in cutting-edge tech launches.
"We planned to host 700 new product debut events at this session of the Canton Fair, representing a 15 percent increase in the number of products being launched. Debuts of new products in emerging and future-oriented sectors, such as service robots, smart healthcare, and new energy, have risen by approximately 20 percent. The service-matching zone aims to facilitate interactions for buyers, allowing them to directly engage in discussions with suppliers regarding products that interest them," said a staff member of the Canton Fair.
For overseas buyers, the fair introduced a departure tax-refund zone supporting 15 languages, allowing multiple receipts to be combined into one refund with instant crediting.
"For the first time, this edition introduces a departure tax refund kiosk that supports 15 languages; it also allows users to select and consolidate multiple receipts for a single refund transaction with immediate crediting -- representing an upgraded service for our departure tax refund process," said another Canton Fair staff.
The Canton Fair is China's longest-running comprehensive international trade event. Regarded as a barometer of China's foreign trade, the biannual event boasts the country's largest exhibition scale, widest variety of exhibits, and highest buyer attendance from around the globe. For this session, the fair features live streaming by professional overseas-buyer hosts and the AskMe intelligent assistant to provide comprehensive support for participants.
