U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview held at the White House on Thursday that the United States may launch another strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, including Pickaxe Mountain -- a fortified site near Iran's Natanz enrichment facility.
"Now we're looking at Pickaxe Mountain. We may have to go there. We'll take a shot at that one. We'll knock it out fast," Trump said.
Trump said the U.S. has already inflicted severe damage on Iran's nuclear infrastructure, but if the U.S. were to withdraw before completely eliminating the possibility of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, it might have to take military action again in the future.
The president also said that the conflict with Iran would end quickly and that Iran is currently engaged in negotiations with the U.S.
Located near the Natanz enrichment facility in Isfahan Province, central Iran, Pickaxe Mountain is considered one of the country's most heavily fortified underground nuclear facilities.
Trump has repeatedly threatened to strike the underground facility at Pickaxe Mountain, but Iran said the site is empty and that any U.S. attempt to attack it would fail.
