The stocks of the Republic of Korea (ROK) closed higher on Wednesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 182.92 points, or 3.29 percent, to close at 5,735.66, while the tech-heavy KOSDAQ Index gained 10.79 points, or 1.38 percent, to finish at 792.76 points.

Tokyo stocks closed higher on Wednesday.

The benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, gained 545.82 points, or 0.85 percent, to close at 64,621.24.

The broader Topix index finished 34.52 points, or 0.86 percent, higher at 4,043.73 points.
