BEIJING, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dehua Porcelain Historical Classic Industry High-Quality Development Conference was held in Dehua County in southeast China's Fujian Province on October 19, bringing together guests from various sectors to explore new pathways for the high-quality development of the local historical ceramic industry.

Wu Zhipu, head of the county, said at the conference that Dehua would continue to preserve and carry forward its rich ceramic heritage, strengthen the global reputation of its ceramics brand, and promote the high-quality development of its historic ceramic industry.

Deng Xiaoding, an official of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, emphasized the importance of innovation-driven development and accelerating the digital transformation of the industry. Deng called for integrated development across sectors and building a premium brand image while promoting openness and cooperation in global markets. These efforts would help revitalize the historic industry in the new era.

At the conference, the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology provided an on-site interpretation of the measures to support the high-quality development of the "Blanc de Chine • Dehua Porcelain" industry.

The conference also witnessed the launch of the declaration on the high-quality development of Dehua's historical classic porcelain industry. The declaration outlined eight initiatives addressed to ceramic enterprises, master artisans, craftspeople, and industry organizations across the county, including strengthening cultural confidence, advancing innovation and digital transformation, upholding green and low-carbon development, deepening cross-sector integration, and expanding international market outreach.

Dehua's ceramic industry cluster has achieved remarkable growth over the past three decades. Its industrial output value surged from 760 million yuan (about 114 million U.S. dollars) in 1996 to 76 billion yuan (about 11.4 billion U.S. dollars). Meanwhile, the county's gross domestic product (GDP) rose from 1.39 billion yuan (about 208 million U.S. dollars) to 44.2 billion yuan (about 6.6 billion U.S. dollars).

Taking this conference as a new starting point, Dehua will accelerate the transformation of its historic ceramic industry toward greater fashion appeal, stronger branding, and deeper international engagement. The county also aims to contribute replicable and scalable solutions from Dehua to the high-quality development of historic industries across China.

SINGAPORE, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Peikko, together with the Embassy of Finland in Singapore, brought together leaders from Singapore's built environment sector, government, engineering and development communities for "2030: Doing More with Less – Connecting Sustainability with Productivity," exploring how construction can increase productivity while reducing the use of materials, labour and other resources.

Held on 21 October at the residence of H.E. Juha Markkanen, Ambassador of Finland to Singapore, the event brought together representatives from Peikko, the Embassy of Finland, Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Ramboll and leading organisations across the construction and property sector.

The programme opened with an address on Finland–Singapore collaboration by H.E. Juha Markkanen. Justin Lim, Deputy Director of the Built Environment Tech Alliance (BETA), addressed Singapore's path to building smarter and greener.

Speakers also included Ted Howland, Senior Director, Group Sustainability at CapitaLand Investment; Ar. Razvan I. Ghilic-Micu, Director at DP Architects; and Alessandro Marzucchini, Technical Director and MMC Director at Ramboll, bringing together perspectives from across the built environment.

A panel discussion moderated by Joona Selin, Trade & Innovation Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland, explored how sustainability ambitions can translate into greater construction productivity.

"The construction industry needs to deliver more while consuming fewer resources. Achieving this requires us to rethink not only what we build, but how we design, manufacture and assemble structures. By combining efficient structural solutions with industrialised construction, we can improve productivity while supporting the transition towards a lower-carbon built environment," said Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group.

The programme also explored Modern Methods of Construction and Peikko's solutions for efficient, prefabricated structures.

The event concluded with industry networking at CapitaSpring, continuing the exchange between Peikko's international leadership and Singapore's construction, engineering, development and design communities.
