YEREVAN, Armenia, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (HKG: 0386, "Sinopec" or "the Company") released its first Global Biodiversity Conservation Report at the closing ceremony of the China Pavilion during the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in Yerevan, Armenia, on October 29. The report outlines Sinopec's approach to integrating biodiversity protection into corporate governance, industrial operations, and international projects and highlights its conservation initiatives that cover habitat restoration, wildlife protection, and technological innovation.
Zhong Ren, a director with Sinopec Group, attended the event and delivered remarks that emphasized the Company's commitment to balancing energy development with environmental conservation. He noted that Sinopec's biodiversity initiatives reflect its efforts to support international energy cooperation while reducing the environmental impact of its operations. A representative from Sinopec's Brand Department also presented the report and outlined the Company's biodiversity management framework and conservation achievements.
Sinopec incorporates biodiversity considerations into its health, safety and environment (HSE) management system and applies conservation requirements throughout project planning, construction, operations, and decommissioning. The report details the Company's approach to avoiding ecologically sensitive areas and restoring habitats affected by industrial activities. By the end of 2025, Sinopec had withdrawn 992 oil wells, 112 gas wells, and 181 water wells from operation, as well as various production and storage facilities as part of its environmental management initiatives.
Restoring habitats and protecting wildlife
Several projects demonstrate how Sinopec is adapting industrial facilities to support biodiversity. In Hubei Province, the Company closed 11 riverside oil depots and 17 terminals along the Yangtze River. The Wangjiahe oil depot terminal, which operated for 63 years, has since been transformed into a conservation education and observation center for the endangered Yangtze finless porpoise. At Sinopec's Zhenhai refining complex in Zhejiang Province, a protected egret habitat has expanded from 2,200 to 15,000 square meters and supports a bird population of approximately 4,000. The Company has also documented the birds' migration patterns through the industrial site. In Beijing, the Niukouyu Wetland at Yanshan Petrochemical has been transformed from an industrial wastewater treatment facility into a habitat supporting nearly 160 wild bird species.
Sinopec is also investing in technologies that are intended to reduce the environmental footprint of its operations. These include China's first million-tonne-scale carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) demonstration project along with a 60,000-metric-ton-per-year industrial facility that produces fully biodegradable PBST materials, designed to help address plastic pollution in agricultural environments.
Sinopec extends conservation efforts worldwide
International projects featured in the report include wildlife migration corridors near drilling operations in Uganda's Murchison Falls National Park, where measures help reduce disruption to elephants and lions. In Ecuador, Sinopec has restored 2.4 million square meters of rainforest vegetation and monitored over 800 plant and animal species. Along Angola's Atlantic coast, the Company has planted more than 7,000 mangroves to support coastal ecosystem restoration. In Australia, a long-term marine turtle management program has used acoustic tagging and satellite tracking to monitor 47 green sea turtles and inform measures to reduce disturbances from maritime operations.
Moving forward, Sinopec will continue to expand international cooperation and strengthen biodiversity conservation across its global operations.

Featuring an All-in-One Self-Emptying System and a 3.1 lb Ultra-Lightweight Design, the V50 Cube Delivers Effortless Dust-Free Cleaning and Clutter-Free Storage.
NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Narwal, a global leader in smart home cleaning, today announced the V50 Cube, the brand's first cordless dry vacuum for the U.S. market. Fresh off award-winning previews at major 2026 global tech expositions, including CES and IFA, the V50 Cube reimagines everyday stick vacuum cleaning with an innovative all-in-one base station that eliminates the hassle of manual dustbin emptying and minimizes clutter. Marking a futuristic expansion to Narwal's established lineup, the vacuum is the ultimate grab-and-go solution, bringing lightweight, compact cleaning performance to a broader consumer audience.
V50 Cube: At a Glance

- All-in-One Compact Dock: The all-in-one auto-empty station keeps the accessories neatly organized, while continuously charging a spare battery to provide up to 110 minutes of total runtime.
- Powerful Multi-Surface Suction: 210 AW suction power, an SGS-certified ZeroWrap anti-tangle roller brush, and flagship-grade carpet cleaning technology tackle deep dirt and pet hair without tangles.
- Ultra-Lightweight & Ergonomic Handling: The vacuum body weighs just 3.1 lbs, with a 180° flat-lay design that easily slides under low-clearance furniture and maneuvers into tight crevices.
The New Standard for a Dust-Free Home
Manual dustbin emptying has long plagued traditional stick vacuum cleaning, releasing airborne dust clouds and allergens that cause secondary pollution and respiratory discomfort. Combined with a bulky, difficult-to-maneuver design, traditional models add extra hassle to daily cleaning and storage. The V50 Cube tackles these challenges head-on by pairing a highly maneuverable dry vacuum with a compact, all-in-one auto-empty station, engineered to deliver a seamless, dust-free, and perfectly organized home-cleaning experience.
"Modern homeowners seek cleaning technology that effortlessly handles everyday messes without disrupting the home's interior," said Junbin Zhang, CEO of Narwal. "The V50 Cube marks a significant expansion to Narwal's innovative lineup by eliminating messy accessory storage and the friction of manual emptying, delivering a tailored, intuitive vacuuming experience to a wide range of homes."
Effortless Maintenance with Proprietary Self-Emptying System
Simplifying post-cleaning maintenance, the dock features Narwal's innovative TurboEmpty System. Driven by powerful vertical airflow, it transfers debris directly from the vacuum cup into a sealed 0.8-gallon antibacterial dust bag, safely locking away dirt for up to 100 days.
During the emptying cycle, the Active Tangle-Free Roller Brush automatically loosens caught hair, while an Active Dust Scraping Ring wipes away stubborn residue stuck to the dust cup walls. For ultimate home hygiene, the system features a 6-layer filtration system with dual H13 HEPA filters and a UV-C sanitizing light. This comprehensive system captures ultra-fine particles down to 0.1µm, suppresses odors, and prevents dust from escaping back into the air.
An All-in-One Dock Built for Seamless Convenience
The V50 Cube's compact base station blends seamlessly into modern living spaces, offering Push-In Charging for effortless docking and a second swappable battery that charges continuously for up to 110 minutes of total runtime.[1] Integrated storage keeps interchangeable tools and wands organized and within easy reach for cleaning cars, upholstery, and ceilings, keeping clutter at bay.
Intelligent Technology for Deep, Multi-Surface Cleaning
Powered by a 450W motor, the V50 Cube produces impressive cleaning performance with 210AW suction power and 28,000 Pa vacuum pressure. The SGS-certified ZeroWrap Roller Brush features soft velvet fibers for hard floors and a silicone roller that vibrates carpets at 7,500 bpm to dislodge deeply embedded dirt, completely preventing hair tangles along the way.
To maximize efficiency, the V50 Cube brings Narwal's flagship robot vacuum technology to the stick vacuum category with CarpetFocus™ Technology. When it detects carpet, the vacuum automatically lowers the brush plate to create a tight floor seal, instantly maximizing suction. Optical sensors power AI DirtSense to detect dust levels in real time and adjust suction power as needed, while the DirtScan 145° Ultra-Wide Aqua Light illuminates hidden dust in dark areas so no spot is ever missed.
Ultra-Lightweight Ergonomics and Flexible Maneuverability
Built to reduce physical strain, the V50 Cube boasts an ultra-lightweight 3.1 lb handheld body that lets users clean stairs, ceilings, upholstery, car interiors, and tight corners with ease. For floor cleaning, the vacuum's 180° Flat Lay Design allows it to lie completely flat, reaching deep under low beds, sofas, and other low-clearance furniture.
