China's investment in high-tech services has posted robust growth in the first four months of 2025, up 11.3 percent year on year, according to a spokesman of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.
China's fixed-asset investment went up 4 percent year on year in the first four months this year, official data showed on Monday. Infrastructure investment rose 5.8 percent year on year, while manufacturing investment increased 8.8 percent.
In the high-tech sector, investment in information services surged 40.6 percent, while computer and office equipment manufacturing investment increased 28.9 percent. Investment in aviation, spacecraft and equipment manufacturing grew 23.9 percent, and professional technical services investment rose 17.6 percent.
At a press conference in Beijing on Monday, Fu Linghui, the NBS spokesman, attributed the gains of investment in high-tech services to China's push for large-scale equipment upgrades and consumer trade-in programs.
The industrial upgrading and development progressed positively, supporting the expansion of effective investment, he said.
"Since the beginning of this year, the economic operation has been generally stable. The implementation of major national strategies and the building of security capacity in key areas and the implementation of policies on large-scale equipment upgrades and consumer goods trade-in programs are delivering results. Meanwhile, industrial upgrading and development have been in a positive direction, supporting the expansion of effective investment. Looking at the next stage, China's investment potential remains huge and there are still many favorable factors supporting investment growth," he said.
There are broader prospects for industrial upgrading, Fu said, adding that investment in innovation has kept increasing.
The coordinated urban-rural and regional development and new urbanization have also created huge investment potential, he said.
China, attaching great importance to protecting and improving the people's livelihood, has expanded investment in the field of social livelihood, which is also conducive to the sustained growth of investment, according to the spokesman.
