Hamas-Israel indirect talks are continuing in Doha without a set timeframe for their conclusion, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari said Tuesday.

Al Ansari said that once the relevant parties reach a consensus on the framework of the agreement, the negotiations will enter the second phase, with the goal of reaching a temporary ceasefire agreement. After the temporary ceasefire is achieved, the negotiations will move into the third phase, during which the parties will negotiate a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

While the spokesman did not disclose specifics about the progress of the talks, he insisted that 'there is no stalemate.'

"We're trying to come up with innovative ideas to bridge the gap when it comes to a lot of the controversial issues, sensitive issues and the talks, in order to get to an agreement of principle that would help us in the coming proximity talks. So I wouldn't link the timeline to any political positions of any party," the spokesman said. Meanwhile, the spokesman condemned Israel's ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip and its recent attacks on southern provinces of Syria, saying that Israel's irresponsible military actions have not been held accountable, and the international community must take actions to stop Israel's "reckless behavior."

The new round of indirect talks between Hamas and Israel resumed on July 6 in Doha amid international efforts to end the conflict that has devastated Gaza for more than 21 months.

The Israeli military campaign in Gaza since October 2023 had resulted in 58,479 Palestinian deaths and 139,355 injuries, Gaza-based health authorities said Tuesday.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday that its forces had seized six more settlements in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, while Ukraine claimed the same day that its forces had attacked a Russian oil refinery.

In its latest report, the ministry said that over the past 24 hours, Russian forces had taken control of four settlements in the Donetsk region and two in the Zaporizhzhia region. It added that Russian forces struck energy facilities serving Ukraine's military-industrial enterprises and that the country's air defense systems shot down 370 Ukrainian drones.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a report issued at 20:00 Sunday that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces had carried out strikes on Russian targets, including assembly areas and command posts. It added that Ukrainian troops had repelled Russian offensives in the Slobozhansk, Kupyansk and Liman directions.

A total of 103 battles had taken place on the frontlines in six directions as of Sunday afternoon, according to the Ukrainian side.

The Ukrainian forces said they launched an attack on the Syzran oil refinery in Russia's Samara region early in the morning, sparking a fire.

In addition, the Ukrainian army struck other Russian targets, including a storage and maintenance facility for uncrewed boats, ferry crossings, and a site for UAV storage.
