The United States should view China and its relations with China objectively and rationally, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian at a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.

Lin made the remarks in response to a media query about American politicians' sayings about China's influence in the United Nations.

"These sayings reflect the typical ideological bias and Cold War, zero-sum mentality of some American politicians. We firmly oppose them. We urge the U.S. side to view China and China-U.S. relations in an objective and rational light, and push for the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations with practical actions, not otherwise," said Lin.
