Foreign dignitaries have hailed the five-day 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) as a platform for cooperation and shared prosperity.
The 2025 CIFTIS opened in Beijing on Wednesday under the theme of "Embrace Intelligent Technologies, Empower Trade in Services".
Ireland's Ambassador to China Nicholas O'Brien emphasized the importance of CIFTIS in building a bridge for enterprises from both countries to cooperate and achieve shared prosperity.
"I think CIFTIS is really important because it offers a platform for companies, for Irish companies to come here. And it allows companies in both countries in both Ireland and China to work together and to grow their companies and grow prosperity for peoples in both countries," said Nicholas O'Brien.
Henning Kristoffersen, commercial counselor at the Norwegian Embassy in China, expressed high hopes for Norwegian companies to explore the Chinese market and seek partnerships through CIFTIS.
"We have a lot of hopes for CIFTIS because this is a great platform for our Norwegian companies to showcase their products, but also to meet potential Chinese partners and Chinese customers for their products. China is a huge market and for us, the trade between Norway and China is very important," said Henning.
David Lewis, executive dean of Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology at Adelaide University, shared his excitement about attending CIFTIS for the first time and his goal to promote the university and build academic and industry ties.
"This is my first time to come to CIFTIS. I'm very excited about the opportunity to meet lots of new people. My expectation is to meet new people to find new opportunities for trade. So we're very keen to show our brand to China through CIFTIS. So people know about our new university. We want to make new contacts with both academia and industry,"said Lewis.
As the world's first and largest comprehensive exhibition dedicated to service trades, CIFTIS has, since its launch in 2012, attracted nearly 1.19 million exhibitors, traders, and participants from 198 countries and regions, along with more than 800 international business associations and institutions. Over 13 years of growth, CIFTIS has evolved into both a vital window showcasing China's achievements in service trades and an important platform for advancing international cooperation.
