A ceremony was held to present flags to volunteers for China's 15th National Games in south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday, marking the final sprint of volunteer service preparations for the competitions.

The volunteers will also work for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games. The sport events will be jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, with the 15th National Games scheduled from November 9 to 21, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games from December 8 to 15.

So far, more than 60,000 volunteers from the three host localities have completed training and tests. During the Games, they will be assigned to about 90 different posts to help athletes, spectators and others.

"Most of our volunteers are university students. Through their service, they will also grow in getting involved in the country's major events," said Yu Yue'e, staff member with the Executive Committee for the Guangdong competition zone of the 15th National Games.
