Preserving peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and advancing the political settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue align with the shared interests of all parties, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Thursday.
Mao made the statement at a press conference in Beijing in response to a query about Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) top leader Kim Jong Un's recent remarks regarding his country's relations with the United States and the Republic of Korea (ROK).
"As a close neighbor of the Korean Peninsula, China follows closely the evolving situation there. Safeguarding peace and stability on the peninsula and advancing the political settlement of the peninsula issue serve the common interests of all parties. China hopes that all sides will work together toward this goal," Mao said.
