Crude futures settle higher

Oil prices climbed on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for July delivery gained 4.8 U.S. dollars, or 5.49 percent, to settle at 92.16 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for August delivery went up 3.86 dollars, or 4.24 percent, to settle at 94.98 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.

European stocks ended lower across the board on Monday.

The benchmark FTSE 100 Index in London fell 0.68 percent to close at 10,338.95 points. France's CAC 40 index dropped 0.45 percent to finish at 8,146.59 points. Germany's DAX index declined 0.40 percent to end the session at 25,003.04 points.
