Typhoon Bavi triggered falling-object hazards across multiple areas in east China's Jiangsu Province on Sunday, with firefighters responding swiftly to eliminate the hazards.

In Jiangsu's Wuxi City, a large piece of metal sheeting from a rooftop in a residential community was blown off by strong winds and got caught in a tree more than ten meters high, swaying precariously in the gale and threatening to fall at any moment.

Upon receiving the emergency call, firefighters rushed to the scene and used ropes and hooks to secure the dangling metal sheet. Together with police officers and subdistrict staff, they safely pulled the sheeting down to the ground, successfully eliminating the hazard.

In Fuqiao Town, Taicang City, Jiangsu, a resident's balcony window was blown askew by the gale, tilting and hanging precariously, with the glass and frames threatening to fall.

Given the strong winds at the scene and the difficulty of working at height, firefighters donned protective gear and dismantled the unsafe window frames step by step, thereby eliminating the risk of falling debris.

The outdoor unit of an air conditioner on the seventh floor of a residential building in Tong'an Town, Huqiu District of Suzhou, was blown off by the gale and left hanging outside a sixth-floor window, posing a serious threat to pedestrians below.

After arriving, firefighters set up a safety cordon on the ground and evacuated passersby. A firefighter then put on protective gear and, using a safety harness, leaned out to secure the unit at multiple points, cut the connecting pipelines, and, in coordination with the ground crew, lowered the equipment safely to the ground using ropes, resolving the emergency.

Typhoon Bavi, the ninth typhoon of the year, made successive landfalls along the coast of east China's Zhejiang Province late Saturday.
