The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said Saturday that it has redirected 53 commercial vessels as part of its "blockade against Iran."
The CENTCOM announced the updated figures in a post on X, saying that U.S. sailors are conducting maintenance on F/A-18E Super Hornets aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.
"As of Aug. 8, CENTCOM redirected 53 commercial vessels, disabled 2, and boarded 2. The U.S. military has also permitted more than 30 ships to pass through the blockade for humanitarian aid," the post said.

"I knew about the very welcoming, family-like atmosphere of this clinic, so I came here for treatment and relaxation. And I discovered a magnificent sea," said Nali, a tourist.
In east China's Zhejiang Province, global tourists are learning to make herbal sachets at a centuries-old Chinese medicine pharmacy, getting hands-on experience with traditional herbs and practices.
"I have heard about traditional Chinese medicine for a long time, but I didn't expect what I saw. I was very impressed. Chinese medicine is very natural. Maybe that is one of the biggest advantages of Chinese medicine," said Peyov Peev, a Bulgarian tourist.
