China's postal sector maintained solid growth in the first seven months of 2026, with business volume and revenue both on the rise, according to the latest data from the State Post Bureau.

From January to July, the postal sector handled 127.44 billion parcels, up 4.2 percent year on year. The sector's business revenue (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal Savings Bank of China) rose by 6.1 percent year on year to nearly 1.08 trillion yuan (about 160 billion U.S. dollars).

In July, express delivery companies continued to deepen their collaboration with specialized industrial clusters, leveraging their intelligent and integrated supply chain service capabilities to promote the transformation and upgrading of upstream and downstream enterprises.

In Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, delivery company SF Express has established on-site partnerships with automobile and parts manufacturers to enable flexible deployment of vehicles based on production plans.

"We are gradually launching integrated warehousing and delivery services and intelligent supply chain services to build direct connections with our customers' production and sales systems in the future. With services expanded from simple delivery to those integrating warehousing and delivery, as well as supply chain solutions, our source of revenue will be diversified, shifting the approach from cost savings to value enhancement," said Yan Tao, an employee of the company.

Currently, China's express delivery companies are transforming from simple transportation service providers into comprehensive supply chain service providers, getting deeply involved in the production process of the manufacturing sector. Through customized and refined solutions, they help industrial clusters reduce costs and increase efficiency, injecting new momentum into the real economy.

"The postal sector continues efforts in sub-sectors, offering customized and refined services to meet diverse consumer demands and drive steady market expansion. The average daily business volume is about 550 million parcels, providing a solid guarantee for smooth economic circulation and vibrant consumption," said Wang Yuehan, director of the Industrial Economics Department at the Development Research Center of the State Post Bureau.

China strongly deplores Japan's negative moves related to the notorious Yasukuni war shrine, and has lodged serious protests against Japan, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Saturday.

The spokesperson made the remarks after Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi made a monetary offering to the Yasukuni Shrine on August 15, which marks the day of Japan's unconditional surrender in World War II, and certain cabinet members also visited the shrine.

China strongly deplores Japan's negative moves related to the Yasukuni war shrine, and has lodged serious protests against Japan, the spokesperson said in a statement posted on the official website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

During World War II, Japan launched the war of aggression and committed horrendous crimes. The Yasukuni war shrine is a spiritual tool and symbol of Japanese militarism. It is in fact a shrine for war criminals, as it honors 14 convicted Class-A war criminals responsible for the war of aggression, said the spokesperson, noting that no pretext whatsoever can hide the Japanese politicians' true intention which is to change the verdict on the war criminals, cover up Japan's war crimes, distort the historical facts, and pave the way for accelerating remilitarization.

This is an affront to historical justice, a challenge to the foundational norms of civilization, and a provocation against the postwar international order. Such behaviors have been firmly rejected by the overwhelming majority of the international community, said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson said this year marks the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Trials. To view and treat history correctly is an important prerequisite for Japan's postwar return to the international community, the political foundation for Japan's ties with neighboring countries, and more importantly, a key measure for Japan's commitment to peaceful development.

China urges the Japanese side to do serious soul-searching on its history of aggression, make a clean break with militarism, and earn trust from its Asian neighbors and the rest of the world with concrete actions, said the spokesperson.
