The "China Corner" themed exhibition on the sidelines of the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) underway in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia, has drawn great attention by showcasing China's experience and achievements in combating desertification.
Held under the overall theme of COP17 -- "Restoring Land, Restoring Hope," the exhibition presents China's efforts and achievements in combating desertification through five chapters, covering China's major ecological projects, prairie conservation and restoration, international cooperation, scientific prevention and control, and coordinated development of ecological industries.
During COP17, which runs through Aug. 28, the "China Corner" will also host a series of other thematic sideline events to facilitate exchanges on ideas, technologies, and practices for combating desertification.
At a COP17 sideline event on Saturday, China and Arab countries jointly released a five-year plan for desertification control, marking another dedicated effort to address drought, desertification and land degradation with regional collaborations.
