Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.16 percent to 3,979.89 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.02 percent lower at 13,872.38 points.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, dropped 1.32 percent to close at 3,393.43 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 2.35 percent lower at 1,933.14 points.
