BERLIN, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Neakasa, a global provider of smart pet care solutions, announced at IFA 2026 in Berlin that its Riko smart wet-meal feeder has been named an IFA 2026 Innovation Award Honoree, recognizing its innovative approach to automated wet-meal feeding for cats.
Unlike conventional automatic feeders that store prepared wet food, Riko stores freeze-dried food in its dry form and automatically grinds and mixes it with water at scheduled feeding times. Each meal is prepared on demand according to the selected portion and hydration level, offering a new approach to incorporating freshly prepared wet meals into a cat's daily feeding routine.
Riko supports adjustable water-to-food ratios from 1:1 to 5:1, more than 20 scheduled meals per day, and portions from 1 to 15 grams. Its 3L food bin and 2.4L water tank can support up to 10 days of automated feeding for one 12-pound adult cat, depending on feeding amounts and schedules. The Neakasa app allows owners to manage feeding schedules, portions, food and water levels, and feeding history.

Its 96L OpenView Cabin provides a spacious interior with open sightlines, while the PureTower Odor Control System combines activated carbon and a desiccant layer to help reduce odors and manage moisture. A low-entry design with an approximately 26 cm entrance makes access easier for kittens and senior cats.

Top Academic Talent Joins Forces
The newly launched Music Therapy Research Centre is directed by Ms LIU Ying, Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Digital Innovation and Technology at THEi. A distinguished expert in Chinese traditional music, Ms LIU leads the Centre's core content strategy, backed by international innovation expertise from Dr PANG Yan, Associate Research Professor, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); Doctoral Supervisor, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and his team.
As the champion of the Guzheng category at the 9th Chinese Music 'Golden Bell Awards', and the exclusive recipient of the gold, silver, and bronze awards in this category. Ms LIU noted that the Centre maximises synergy between Hong Kong and Shenzhen by pairing "Hong Kong's global perspective with Shenzhen's development speed" to construct a regional cross-disciplinary hub.
