A significant number of major projects with substantial investment have been signed at the ongoing 2026 World Manufacturing Convention, which opened in Hefei City, east China's Anhui Province, on Sunday, highlighting its role as a platform for manufacturing cooperation and industrial upgrading.

790 projects with a total investment of 363.41 billion yuan (about 54.2 billion U.S. dollars) have been signed at the convention.

Authoritative research reports, including the "Manufacturing Digital-Intelligent Transformation Capability Level (2026)," have also been released.

Running for four days, the convention focuses on emerging and future industries such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology and embodied intelligence. It features ten major exhibition areas, including intelligent connected new energy vehicles and robotics, showcasing the latest achievements in advanced manufacturing.

More than 900 companies are participating in the exhibition, along with participants from over 50 countries and regions.

Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.97 percent to 3,949.91 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.65 percent higher at 13,730.02 points.

The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices stood at around 2.03 trillion yuan (about 300.8 billion U.S. dollars), down from 2.08 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.

Medical services, cellular immunotherapy and recombinant protein stocks were among the top gainers, while precious metals and photolithography equipment shares led the declines.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.8 percent to close at 3,399.59 points Monday.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and other indices, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
