The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index fell 0.29 percent to close at 10,733.00 points. France's CAC 40 index shed 0.38 percent to finish at 7,838.49 points. Germany's DAX index dropped 0.06 percent to end the session at 25,304.42 points.

The stocks of the Republic of Korea (ROK) closed higher on Wednesday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 182.92 points, or 3.29 percent, to close at 5,735.66, while the tech-heavy KOSDAQ Index gained 10.79 points, or 1.38 percent, to finish at 792.76 points.
