Chinese and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) representatives on Saturday held a ceremony marking the completion of renovation work of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) martyrs' cemetery in Sinphyong County, North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.

Chinese representatives from various sectors in the DPRK, a delegation from China's Ministry of Veterans Affairs, officials from the DPRK's Ministry of Urban Management and other departments, as well as construction workers and local residents, attended the ceremony.

The national anthems of China and the DPRK were played at the ceremony. Representatives from both countries jointly laid floral baskets in honor of the CPV martyrs, observed a moment of silence, presented flowers, and paid their respects at the martyrs' graves and the wall bearing the names of the fallen.

From April to October this year, China and the DPRK completed joint renovation projects for CPV martyrs' cemeteries in Sinphyong County, Wonsan City, Munchon City, Chonnae County and Sepo County.

The cemetery in Sinpyong covers about 600 square meters and includes one communal burial site containing the remains of 343 martyrs.

The renovation added several commemorative features, including a memorial archway, a plaza, and a wall inscribed with the martyrs' names.

Sunday marks the 76th anniversary of the CPV entering the DPRK to fight in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953).
