Cutting-edge technology products and AI applications are making their debuts at the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2026, which opened on Friday in Guiyang, the capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province.

Spanning 60,000 square meters, the expo features five pavilions, including computing infrastructure, model‑driven solutions, and intelligent experience, with over 370 exhibitors from China and abroad. The exhibition covers the full digital economy value chain, from foundational infrastructure to practical applications.

At the expo, the "Twin‑Hull" floating wind turbine has drawn attention. It works like a flying generator. Using helium to rise thousands of meters, it captures strong high‑altitude winds and transmits electricity to the ground via cables. It offers clean, flexible power for data centers and digital infrastructure.

Humanoid robots and AI agents have also drawn crowds at the expo. One robot can draw, make coffee and make popcorn on command. From smart services to power inspection, robots are entering all walks of life. The AI solutions at the expo are powered by proprietary large models, offering visitors a glimpse into the vibrant AI-driven digital economy.

The expo features 60 debuts, including an AI model that cuts pesticide research and development time from two years to two months. Computing applications are also being applied across meteorology, industry, tourism, and education.

The expo is open to the public from Friday through Sunday.

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a written statement on Friday calling for domestic innovation and greater economic resilience to combat intensifying U.S. and Israeli sanctions, while strictly banning any actions that undermine social cohesion.

In the statement, Khamenei praised the government's efforts in face of mounting U.S. economic blockades.

He urged the nation to continue to strive, innovate, and demonstrate its strength and power under the current complex situation.

Khamenei said that Iranian authorities should prioritize economies and public livelihoods, boost domestic production, and systematically reduce the dominance of the U.S. dollar within the national economy.

He also called for efforts to gradually eliminate the negative factors in the national economy.

Khamenei also emphasized the need to leverage new technologies across the industrial, agricultural, cultural, and educational sectors to promote the nation's development and progress.

He urged Iranian authorities to avoid any discouraging statements that would weaken national and public motivation, stressing that any behavior or speech damaging to national social cohesion is strictly prohibited.
