International observers have lauded China's people-centered approach and its dedication to the development of its people, as reflected in the outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for national economic and social development. This plan not only benefits the Chinese populace but also offers valuable governance insights for other countries. Chinese lawmakers on Thursday approved the outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan at the closing meeting of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress, wrapping up this year's "two sessions", the country's annual political gatherings widely watched around the world.

Experts have emphasized that the Five-Year Plan strengthens China's commitment to its people's development and ensures that the country's achievements benefit all citizens.

"I think we can see that China all the time focuses on its population, so that's the beauty of Chinese characteristics of socialism. So for them, for the next five-year plan, trying to visualize the future opportunities and problems, focusing on the youth in their center. I think that would be positive to achieve Chinese goal in coming days," said Dr. Bulbul Siddiqi, professor at the Department of Political Science and Sociology and the Director of the Confucius Institute at Bangladesh's North South University.

"Over the time period, what I have observed is that President Xi Jinping's philosophy and approach to governance and social development has been tremendous in making the impact on Chinese people's lives, but also at the regional and global scale. And we've seen that there's also progress and priority on the quality, innovation but based on the people and their growth," said Farhat Asif, president of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in Pakistan's Islamabad.

"There are many new things inside this plan, but I think that there is one very, very important. This is that this plan, the new philosophy, is to invest not only directly in the economic, in the production, but to invest in the people," said Zahari Zahariev, president of Bulgaria's National Association for the Belt and Road.

"This is how you intended to approach it, particularly by emphasizing training, the education of young people, and training as many engineers as possible," said Xavier Bertrand, president of the Regional Council of Hauts-de-France.

"Most importantly, the achievements of China's economic development benefit not just a select few; this is different from the situation in certain countries where economic growth benefits only a minority. In China, the benefits of economic development benefit all people. We again highly commend the historic achievements of the Communist Party of China in leading the country to eliminate absolute poverty and successfully address a series of other significant issues," said Dmitry Novikov, first deputy chairman of the Committee on International Affairs in Russia's State Duma.

Several explosions were heard in western and eastern areas of Tehran on Friday night as Israel launched a new wave of airstrikes on the Iranian capital.

Video footage captured by China Media Group (CMG) showed explosions near Iran's Defense Ministry.

"I'm CMG reporter Li Jiannan, and I'm currently in the northeastern part of Tehran, the capital city of Iran. As you can see in the direction I'm pointing, it's around 22:00 local time on the 13th, and explosions just occurred several hundred meters away from our reporting point, with thick smoke billowing from there," Li said from the scene.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) later announced that its air force had launched a new wave of airstrikes on Tehran.

Iran's Semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that the city's air defenses had been activated to counter hostile U.S. and Israeli targets.
