Computing power becomes more affordable for small businesses in China as prices plunge

Computing power prices have continued to decline in China with the rapid expansion and standardization of computing infrastructure across the country, making the once costly resource more accessible to businesses and individuals.

Several major AI model providers have recently announced permanent price reductions, with DeepSeek and Xiaomi MiMo standing out for their aggressive cuts.

These moves are substantially lowering the cost of everyday AI applications such as high-frequency Q and A, web design, coding, and other routine tasks, making advanced AI tools far more accessible.

"By increasing cache capacity fivefold, we can now process nearly five times more requests using the same hardware and computing resources. This has reduced the average cost per request by 80 percent," said Yang Bo, technical lead of the Xiaomi MiMo Large Model Team.

At the same time, China's three major telecom operators have introduced affordable subscription packages and launched related services on national computing power platform.

China Telecom offers tailored solutions for developers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as individual and family users. China Mobile provides AI-powered coding subscription services, supporting code generation, review, architecture design, and other development needs. China Unicom uses a flexible points-based billing system, well-suited for enterprise office applications and intelligent agent deployments.

The push to expand token-based services aims to address key challenges faced by SMEs in digital transformation, such as difficulty in accessing computing power and high costs.

Iran on Sunday warned the United States against treating its overseas assets as "war booty" or using them to compensate the U.S. allies in the region, saying any such move would be unacceptable and could trigger consequences.

In a social media post, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi responded to reports that the United States might tap into blocked Iranian assets to compensate allies for damages incurred in recent conflicts.

He described such a move as "unacceptable," stressing that Iran's assets are state property.

Gharibabadi said that the United States, as a main party to military actions against Iran, should bear its own responsibility and that of its allies in the current regional conflicts, and countries in the region that provided territory or facilities for attacks on Iran have no right to demand compensation.

He also warned that any seizure, transfer or reallocation of Iran's assets without the government consent would be considered as a new internationally wrongful act and could lead to corresponding consequences.
