牛油是許多港人家中常見的食材。消委會最新測試市面28款預先包裝牛油、人造牛油及塗抹醬，並以塑化劑、飽和脂肪酸、反式脂肪酸及鈉含量等為評測指標，結果發現有11款牛油評級達4星以上，其中2款產品更達5星最佳評級。
消委會從今年2至3月，從超市、烘焙材料店及百貨公司食品部搜集了12款牛油（butter）、1款起酥油（shortening）、1款牛油和植物油的混合脂肪（blend）、2款混合脂肪塗抹醬（blended fat spread）、8款植物油的脂肪塗抹醬（fat spread）、2款蒜味人造牛油（margarine）及2款添加植物固醇或甾烷醇的脂肪塗抹醬。這些含植物油的製品，坊間一般稱為人造牛油、人造脂肪塗抹醬或混合脂肪。

這次測試委託獨立實驗室進行，評測指標包括7種塑化劑DEHP、DBP、DIDP、DINP、BBP、DEHA和ATBC的遷移量、氯丙二醇脂肪酸酯（3-MCPDE）、縮水甘油脂肪酸酯（以環氧丙醇顯示）、苯並[a]芘（Benzo[a]pyrene）含量，以及飽和脂肪酸、反式脂肪酸、單元不飽和脂肪酸、多元不飽和脂肪酸和鈉含量。
