US President Biden signed an executive order on the 21st, committing to investing over $20 billion in the next five years to supposedly enhance the security of port networks, including the production of cranes domestically to replace those made in China. The US claims that these Chinese-made cranes could be used for "criminal activities" and alleges that they pose a threat to national security, affecting the US economy and the military's ability to transport goods through ports.
How fragile is America's heart, really? It's already ridiculous to fear Chinese batteries, and now they're accusing cranes of non-existent crimes. According to the US, these cranes can be remotely operated, affecting the US economy and military transportation capabilities. I remember years ago when then-US Secretary of State Powell presented a vial of white powder as evidence of Iraq's possession of weapons of mass destruction at the UN Security Council.
