The Greed of Man Predicted It Long Ago! How Does America Profit Without War? Talks and Assassinations: US–Israel Raid Targets Iran’s Top Leadership
On February 28, 2026, explosions in downtown Tehran shattered the fragile peace in the Middle East. The United States and Israel launched joint precision airstrikes, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and 48 senior military and political figures in a brutal decapitation operation—including key officials who had recently taken part in negotiations between Washington and Tehran. While feigning dialogue, the US and Israel struck with lethal force, exposing their untrustworthy and hegemonic nature to the world. As the classic Hong Kong drama The Greed of Man foresaw: How does America make money if it does not wage war?
Following the attack, Iran swiftly formed an Interim Leadership Council and convened its first formal meeting, declaring 40 days of national mourning. Tehran activated Operation True Promise‑4, launching its sixth wave of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli territory and 27 US military bases across the Middle East, including the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. To counter US–Israeli aggression, Iran blockaded the Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly 20 percent of global oil supplies pass. International oil prices surged to $105 a barrel, and global shipping and civil aviation were severely disrupted, triggering a worldwide geopolitical crisis.
US President Donald Trump postured boastfully about the military outcome while claiming to seek dialogue with Iran’s new leadership. In my view, this farce of “kill first, talk later” is more repulsive than vulgar abuse. Facts have long proven that the US and Israel are the world’s most dangerous armed coalition, disregarding honor and credibility. From surprise attacks amid negotiations in recent Middle East conflicts to military adventurism in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, American promises have proven hollow. Cold data strips away its pretense as a peacekeeper: in the 45 years between the end of World War II and the end of the Cold War, the world saw just 26 days without war. In over 240 years since its founding in 1776, the US has been at peace for merely 16 years. From 1945 to 2001, of 248 armed conflicts in 153 regions worldwide, the US initiated 201—about 81 percent. Since 2001, waging war in the name of counterterrorism, the US has conducted military operations in 85 countries, leaving behind devastation and suffering rather than prosperity. The greatest victims of war are always innocent civilians.
Conditions inside Iran continue to deteriorate. Anti‑US and anti‑Israel sentiment runs high; the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) holds core state and military power, and society is fully mobilized for conflict. The economy nears collapse: inflation exceeds 60 percent, food inflation hits 72 percent, the rial has crashed, foreign exchange reserves are depleted, and shortages of fuel, electricity, and medicine are severe, with Tehran facing daily blackouts of more than eight hours. At the United Nations, Security Council ceasefire resolutions have been blocked. While China and Russia urge restraint and dialogue, they cannot stop the escalation driven by the US and Israel.
More alarmingly, the successful infiltration of Iran’s security apparatus and the targeted decapitation show that the US‑led bloc has extended its networks worldwide, posing a lethal threat to the national security of nations everywhere. We are fortunate to live in China, where a strong motherland provides an unbreakable security shield. China has acted early to enact and implement national security legislation, protecting citizens on all fronts. Using Iran’s tragedy as a warning, I urge everyone to value national security, spread awareness to family and friends, and stay vigilant.
Looking ahead, Iran’s future is highly uncertain. In the short term (1–3 months), Iran will complete its leadership transition while launching sustained, large‑scale retaliation alongside allied proxy forces, bringing full confrontation closer. In the medium term (3–12 months), Iran’s new leadership will most likely maintain a hardline line, deepen cooperation with China and Russia to ease economic pain, while risks of all‑out conflict and internal power struggles rise. Over time, the Middle East will be reshaped; prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz will disrupt the global economy; and the risk of Iran crossing the nuclear threshold will grow sharply, fueling regional proliferation.
The US and Israeli policy of talking while attacking lays bare the evil of hegemonism. Decades of war crimes must and will be held to account. Iran’s ordeal sounds a global alarm: only a strong, secure nation, united by its people in defense of national security, can resist external threats and safeguard peace. I wish for peace in the world.
