Head-of-State Diplomacy: The Anchor of China’s Diplomacy; A Force for Peace, Stability and Justice; A Major Country Delivers for the World
On March 8, the press conference on foreign policy at the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress was held in Beijing. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewed China’s major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in 2025 and outlined priorities for head-of-state diplomacy in 2026. He stressed that head-of-state diplomacy is the anchor of China’s diplomacy. Amid a volatile international landscape, Chinese leaders have conducted momentous head-of-state diplomacy, creating a series of historic moments.
China stands as a foremost force for peace, stability and justice in the world, confident in humanity’s future. It stands ready to work with all like-minded countries toward building a community with a shared future for mankind, and to advance a new chapter of peace, development, cooperation and win-win progress.
With firm resolve and calm composure, Minister Wang Yi articulated the core tenets and achievements of China’s diplomacy, demonstrating China’s confidence, responsibility and commitment as a staunch force for peace, stability and justice. Head-of-state diplomacy has provided vital stability and certainty to a turbulent world, steering strategic communications with major countries, consolidating good-neighborly ties, rallying the Global South through multilateral forums, and championing peace at commemorative events.
On hotspot issues such as the Iran situation and the Palestine-Israel conflict, China upholds an objective and impartial stance, calls for ceasefire and de-escalation, respects sovereignty, opposes the arbitrary use of force, and advocates political settlement. This embodies China’s commitment to international rule of law and fairness.
As the world’s largest developing country, China follows a win-win opening-up strategy, living up to the belief that a major country’s greatness lies in delivering benefits to the world. Hong Kong, as an international metropolis, can leverage its diverse culture and vibrant social media ecosystem.
