Cheng, Li-Wun, Chairperson of the Chinese Nationalist Party (Kuomintang), led a KMT delegation to arrive at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport at noon on April 7 and then travel to Nanjing, officially launching her mainland visit. As reported by CCTV News, Cheng has repeatedly voiced her wish to visit the mainland since taking office as KMT leader. During the trip, she and her delegation will conduct exchanges and inspections in Jiangsu, Shanghai and Beijing. Before departure, Cheng met with senior KMT figures, noting that the visit aims to forge a common vision for cross-Strait peace, which will be fully implemented after the KMT regains governance in 2028.

Japan’s Military Expansion Provokes Peace; Might Does Not Make Right

 

Japan’s accelerating military buildup and reckless nuclear brinkmanship pose a grave threat to regional peace and stability. The Suga administration has eased arms export rules and pushed for large-scale rearmament, triggering mass protests in Tokyo as citizens reject constitutional revision and a dangerous security shift. Shockingly, Japan holds 44.4 tons of separated plutonium as of late 2024, enough to produce roughly 5,500 nuclear warheads. As the only non-nuclear state with a full nuclear fuel cycle, its nuclear stockpile and right-leaning policies signal a reckless break from post-war norms.

 

As State Councilor Wang Yi stressed, might does not make right. Military muscle cannot replace justice, and coercion never delivers lasting peace. Using the so-called “China threat” as a pretext to revive militarism is a miscalculation.

 

China has developed a comprehensive unmanned combat system covering land, sea, air, stealth, swarm and intelligent operations, forming a core new-quality combat force. Key assets include the GJ-11 stealth drone cooperating with the J-20, the Jiutian heavy drone carrier, robotic wolf packs, and the Orca unmanned underwater vehicle, enabling manned-unmanned teamwork, mass saturation strikes and precision attacks. China’s defense tech, from electromagnetic guns to unmanned systems, achieves independent innovation and generational leaps, unlike Japan’s reliance on U.S. technology transfers.

 

China maintains reasonable defense spending purely to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity, acting as a stabilizing force in the Asia-Pacific. We urge Japan to heed public calls for peace, abandon historical revisionism, halt nuclear brinkmanship, and return to its pacifist constitution. Only by choosing dialogue over confrontation can Japan regain trust and uphold regional order.
