據《yahoo!tech》報導，微博爆料人士「數碼閒聊站」透露，蘋果目前正在內部測試一款約6.96吋的螢幕面板，這樣的尺寸未來若推出，市場可能會以「7吋螢幕」作為宣傳。該爆料人士長期追蹤蘋果供應鏈動態，過去也曾多次曝光相關消息。

消息指出，這款接近7吋的面板比例與今年推出的iPhone 17 Pro Max相同，代表蘋果不必重新設計螢幕比例。不過，目前該面板仍處於內部測試階段，是否會正式搭載於iPhone 20 Pro Max仍未確定。

蘋果歷代iPhone螢幕尺寸持續放大，2007年初代iPhone推出時，3.5吋螢幕已被視為寬廣設計，後續歷經4吋、5.5吋及5.8吋等尺寸演變。目前旗艦機iPhone 17 Pro Max搭載6.9吋螢幕，若未來升至接近7吋，將接近初代iPhone螢幕尺寸的2倍。
